I have a early 2009 Mac Pro here with the 8 core option. It has been running on a properly maintained battery backup since it was installed as a server. It no longer will post with startup chime and shows little signs of life.
I can't seem to find a service guide that says what the CPUA /CPUB Overtemp lights mean when they're solid. Does that mean the backplane is dead? CPU/ram board is dead?
